So, exactly two weeks after I began chemotherapy, my hair started falling out in clumps. That was my sign to shave it all off. The result? I’m now a baldy. Here’s a picture of me without hair. I’m still getting used to it, and feel kind of self conscious in public (not to mention that being bald is cold!). But I am trusting the Lord for his good opinion of me, not mine or others.
And now, for a little friendly competition. The following two pictures show me with hair. One picture is my own hair shortly after I cut it. The other picture is me in my new wig. Without peaking back to previous posts, which picture do you think has the real hair and which the wig?
Thanks for sharing in this story with me. The plot is thickening, the characters are becoming more life-like, and the mystery and intrigue is keeping us all captivated. What a talented Author.
I would say the bottom one only because your smile is not as confident.
You look great in all three pics.
What Nancy said.
…Still praying. 🙂
Oh, thank you all for finding humor in this with me. Most of you are correct (and very observant, I might add) that the bottom photo is the wig. Had I felt better, I might have taken more time to push the bangs over a little more convincingly or pulled up the old photo to notice the details more closely myself.
You are all such a joy and encouragement to me.
I know I could never look so lovely without hair as you do! It’s a gift. 🙂
I, too, remember so well that picture you posted of your then new short haircut, so by that I know which is the wig photo. But I think I would have been stumped otherwise… it’s a very natural, pretty looking wig!
I loved your last few sentences too. Read them over several times. *You* and your heart are captivating. Christ in you. Thank you for letting your light shine in all this.
Wow, Charity. I especially like your ending on this posting.
Which is your wig? The last one?
Yes, I have a baldy hairdo as well. I do like the fact I don’t have to worry about combing it.
Hope you’re doing well today.
Top real, bottom wig, but really it’s hard to tell the difference. And bald isn’t bad either (but I hear you about it being cold, especially going into the winter months).
i think that i am pretty clever…i can tell because of the earings…no earings on the older picture…hoop earings on the newer photos! ha! i’m a regular sherlock holmes!
and i just love you to pieces!
Hey Char,
You look good as a baldy 🙂 Jon thinks your real hair is the bottom pic, I think the top.
Love and prayers,
Jon & Shel
I agree with LL — you look great without anytime, even without the hair!
As I’ve said in a previous comment, I’ve had that initial picture of you with short hair emblazoned in my mind whenever I’m thinking of you, so I know which one is from earlier and which one is the wig. 🙂
PS: I loved your application of the story metaphor at the end of this post.
top is real hair, bottom is wig. I did not peak I promise.
It is good to hear from you.
You’re funny. Oh, the gift of humor even in dark days! Now, I guess that the second pic is the wig. But really you look charming either way. And, hey, step back Sinead O’Connor… ’cause you even look good without your mane.
