This past week has been one of preparation. At home, at work, in relationships, with family, I have been preparing to be out of commission for a brief time following tomorrow’s surgery.
Today was a culmination of that preparation as I worked to get the last minute details taken care of. The yard has been mowed, the bills paid, the garbage taken out. My dog will go to a friend’s tomorrow, and meals are being organized for after I get home. Now, I wait for surgery.
Thankfully, the Lord has been preparing my heart for this next phase as well. All weekend, I have been getting reminders of His care and faithfulness. An anonymous financial gift in yesterday’s mail, visits and phone calls from friends and family, a passage in scripture about His willingness to help.
So tonight, I will lay my head on the pillow, and, Lord willing, I will rest, knowing all has been taken care of. Only God can provide this kind of peace in such circumstances.
Tomorrow, I will arrive at the hospital at 11 a.m., and surgery is scheduled for 1 p.m. I am so thankful for your prayers.
Lord Jesus, I lift up Charity into your everlasting arms and love and peace and healing. You know all of the details of her current condition. I ask that your Holy Spirit touch her in a special way that lets her know that you are there and you hear her cries, you know her needs, you’ve designed a plan to glorify YOU. I pray for rest and healing for Charity, In Jesus name, amen
I was so glad to hear from Kelly that the surgery went well. Love you, dear friend.
